5 Things To Do In The Okanagan This Fall

The days may be warm, but the mornings and evenings have turned cool and crisp. Fall is here, and with it, a host of new ventures to keep you busy.

1) Step Back in Time at Historic O’Keefe Ranch

In 1867, O’Keefe Ranch was founded at the head of Okanagan Lake. Today, it is open to the public to explore and learn about early ranching in the Okanagan Valley. Come explore the General Store complete with authentic Postmaster, take a wagon tour of the grounds, participate in a guided tour of the O’Keefe mansion, and lose yourself in a corn maze!

2) Return to Nature

Once a weather station, the Allan Brooks Nature Centre has since become a destination for both locals and visitors wanting to learn more about the Okanagan and its unique climate and ecosystems. Visit the interpretive centre, go on a guided trail tour, or let your little ones run wild at the Nature Playground. After your visit, you will leave with a newfound appreciation for what makes this region so special.

3) Take a Bite Out of Life…

4) Discover Your Little Artist

On the last Saturday of every month, the Vernon Public Art Gallery hosts a workshop for children of all ages. Family Saturdays begins with a tour of the current exhibition, followed by a hands-on activity. Pre-registration is required, and all art supplies are provided!

5) Inspire Scientific Inquiry

Children may be back to in-school learning, but that doesn’t mean learning can’t happen outside the classroom too! The Okanagan Science Centre offers interactive displays and exhibits that will help you make memories for years to come.
